Obituary for Charles "Darwin" Hall

Print
Charles Darwin Hall, 86, of Coldwater, passed away at home with his family by his side on Tuesday, April 9, 2019. His family had a graveside service which was held at Evergreen Cemetery in Girard. Darwin was born July 16, 1932 in Sherwood, MI to Charles and Ethel (Claar) Hall. In Darwin’s younger days he was an avid horse lover and spent much time breaking and riding horses. He married the love of his life, Joyce E. Jones on September 23, 1951. They raised their four children in the Coldwater area. Darwin was a true business man and builder! Being a partner with his brother and three sons, he started Hall Brothers Construction and Hall Lumber Company; he loved building and constructing things from wood. He helped build many homes and commercial buildings and polebarns! “A nail bag on his hip and hammer in his hand!” His son’s got him very involved, engineering lift kits and springs for 4x4 trucks. This started Hall’s Off Road and Trailmaster Products. Darwin was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church for over 60 years. In the last two years he helped build and complete the Hillsdale SDA Church. Darwin was a board member and did whatever needed to be done with Remnant Publications to spread the gospel message and bibles throughout the world. Darwin is survived by his children, Cindy (Doug) Seitz of Sylva, NC, Dwight (Deb) Hall of Quincy, Rudy (Charlene) Hall of Coldwater, Dan (Penny) Hall of Coldwater, his brother Rudy (Barbara) Hall of Burlington, sister Judy (Cecil) Mills of Gaylord, 17 grandchildren and many great and great, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and brother-in-law Treva and Keith Dunn, also his wife Joyce in February 2014. He will be sadly missed. www.dutcherfh.com
