Roland Richard Stoy, 71, of Coldwater, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the home of his daughter in Coldwater.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Lockwood Community Church with Pastor Shayne Looper officiating. The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Roland was born on November 25, 1949 to Harold Stoy and Geraldine (Reichelderfer) Cole in Toledo, Ohio. After high school he went onto receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism. He worked as a journalist with the Coldwater Daily Reporter since the mid 1980’s.
He was a member of Lockwood Community Church. Roland volunteered as a board member with Branch County Family Promise, the Forgotten Men’s Ministry, Branch Area Food Pantry and the Coldwater Community Garden. He has attended AA for past 26 years. He enjoyed reading, writing, fishing, listening to all genres of music, the Detroit Tigers and the Green Bay Packers.
Roland is survived by his children; Jennifer (Steven) Kelso of Indianapolis, Indiana, Grant (Heidi) Miekle of Elkhart, Indiana and Rebecca (Brenton) Aughenbaugh of Coldwater, his step-daughters; Marina Haddock of Indianapolis, Indiana and Destiny Armstead of Texas, his grandchildren; Alex, Desmond, Gwendolyn, Cambria, Maxwell, Julian, Elise, Jaelen, Nini and Aqua, his siblings; Frank (Nancy) Bodenmiller of Titusville, Florida, Teri Hollister of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Haleya (Thom) Priest of Amherst, Massachusetts and Jenny (Bryan) Sheffer of Iron River, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandchildren Adam and Javontees.
